Albert Olson

Albert E. Olson, 77, of Mattawan, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home. Albert was born December 31, 1938, the son of Frederick and Elizabeth (Phillips) Olson. Albert was a 1957 graduate of Mattawan High School, attended WMU and served in the Army. Albert spent the majority of his life in the grocery business alongside his father and grandfather. He retired in 1996 as President of Midland Grocery, in Michigan City, IN. Albert was a lifelong resident of Mattawan and Lehigh Acres, FL. Albert is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy (Lammon) Olson, his three daughters Christine (Mike) Linihan, Sandra (David) Sexton and Kimberly Olson. Albert was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his five grandchildren, Megan, Chaise, Victoria, Jessika and AJ and two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Grayson. Albert is also survived by his two sisters, Connie (Leon) Puzevic and Elaine (Doug) Allman, Sister-in-Law Cathy (Ross) Boissoneau and several nieces and nephews. Albert is preceded in death by his parents and niece, Cynthia Puzevic. A Celebration of Albert's Life will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2-5pm at the Antwerp Township Senior Center, Front St. Mattawan, MI. Food and drinks will be served. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to West Michigan (Kalamazoo) Cancer Center or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
