Alan "Big Al" Kiel of Kalamazoo, MI passed away suddenly on November 4, 2017 at the age of 60. He was born in Kalamazoo on February 4, 1957. He graduated from Loy Norrix High School and then attended Central Michigan University. He was currently employed by Coxline Inc. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, enjoyed hunting & fishing, and going to the cottage on Arbutus Lake. He was the biggest Michigan Wolverine Fan and season ticket holder since 1982. He is survived by his mother, Jean Kiel; his loving wife, Diane (Kwiatkowski) Kiel; four children, Brett (Kelsey) Kiel, Brynn (Scott) Conwell, Lynda (Michael) Hamilton and Alison (Chris) Finley; ten grandchildren, Nolan, Ellianna, Tessie, Haiden, Hayven, Hunter, Tate, Hannah, Hazel and Halle; three sisters, Pam (Rick) Reeves, Pen (Kelly) Blank and Peg (Bill) Timmerman; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Alan's Last Tailgate will be held at the Comstock V.F.W. Post #6252, 5990 East Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49048 at 2 p.m. on November 10, 2017. Please come in your maze and blue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association.
