On the morning of Wednesday, July 29, 2015, Ade Vlietstra passed from this earthly life to the waiting arms of his Savior.

Ade was a member of First Reformed Church where he served as an elder and deacon. He was a veteran of the US Navy and since the 1940’s Ade was involved in car sales. He was preceded in death by his parent’s Jake and Adrianna Vlietstra, brother’s Joe Vlietstra and Andy Vlietstra, brother-in-law Herman Plooster and sister-in-law Eleanor Vlietstra.

He was loved and will be missed by his wife, June, of 66 years and children: Lynnelle and Tom Pierce of Holland, Ross and Sheryl Vlietstra of Spring Lake and Scott and Marcia Vlietstra of Zeeland; grandchildren: Chad and Jodi Pierce, Jason and Amy Pierce, Joe and Heather Dykhuis, Derek and Madison Vlietstra, Evan and Kacy Martin and Charley Vlietstra, and nine great grandchildren; sisters: Lena Plooster and Cathy and Rog Tuinstra both of Grandville; brothers and sister-in-law: Gord and Judy Hicks of Newaygo, Ken and June Hicks of Jenison and Yvonne Harris of Tennessee; many nieces, nephews.

A memorial service will be 11:00 am, Monday, August 3, 2015 at First Reformed Church, 630 State Street in Holland. Rev. Dr. Daniel Gillett and Rev. Dr. Chad Pierce will be officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm, Sunday, August 2, 2015 at Dykstra Funeral Home – Mulder Chapel, 188 west 32nd street in Holland. Memorial contributions may be given to First Reformed Church Benevolent Fund.
