Laura Burling

Laura F. Burling, age 98, of Kankakee, IL passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at River North Nursing Home in Bradley, IL. Laura was born on January 21, 1916 in Kankakee, IL the daughter of Edward and Rose Goodchild. She worked for many years in the housekeeping department at the State Hospital (Shapiro Developmental Center) in Kankakee, was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, enjoyed bowling, dancing, bingo, but especially enjoyed being with her family.

Laura is survived by her sons Thomas (Andrea) Burling of Santa Clara, CA and Donald (Candy) Burling of Bradley, 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, her parents, sisters Florence Styck, Eda Styck, Lucille Legris, and Edna Lowery, and brothers Edward, Harold,and Leo Goodchild.

A time of gathering will take place on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 3pm-7pm at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Kankakee Chapel. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 10am at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Kankakee Chapel followed by an interment at Kankakee Memorial Gardens Kankakee, IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to Asbury United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
