Herbert Blair

Herbert B. Blair, 76, of Bourbonnais IL passed away May 14, 2014 at Presence St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee IL. He was born November 19, 1937 in Evansville IN to Herbert and Viola Blair. Herbert married Jacquelyn Brenneisen July 7, 1959. Herbert worked at General Foods and Gaines in the pet food division for 33 years retiring in 1993. He proudly served our country from 1956-1958 in the United States Marine Corps. Herbert was a long time member of St. John United Church of Christ in Kankakee IL. He also was a huge football fan. But his true love was traveling with his wife. They especially loved Caribbean cruises and special trips to Hawaii.

Herbert is survived by his wife of Bourbonnais, one son Todd Blair of Clifton and one daughter Kristy (Bill) Cowie of Bourbonnais. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Matthew Cowie, Stephen Blair and Elizabeth Blair. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister Doris Jean.

A gathering for family and friends will be Friday, May 23 from 10a.m. until a celebration of Herberts life at 11a.m. all at St. John United Church of Christ which is located at 1045 W. River St. in Kankakee IL. Burial will be at a later date. The Rev. Barbara Lohrbach will officiate. Please make any donations to family wishes.
