Arnold 'Jerry' Haggerty, of Mesick; an angel of God was brought home on Monday, April 21, 2014.

He was born on June 18, 1943, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Arthur J. and Adella F. (St. Clair) Haggerty.

Jerry served in the Army during the Vietnam Era; he was a sharpshooter. He married Barbara Chandler on July 6, 2013, in Harrietta, Mich.

Jerry was an auto mechanic with Haggerty Service in Mesick. He was a life member of the Amvets Post No. 120, Mesick. He enjoyed motorcycles, working on trucks of any kind and year. Jerry started to restore his dream car; a 1936 Plymouth Coupe. He loved spending time with his family and loved all of them.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Barbara of Mesick; son, Jerry Wayne (Tara) Haggerty of Shelbyville, Tenn.; stepchildren: Becky (Laren) Quade of Mesick, Lloyd of Morrison, Tenn., and Paul of Shelbyville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Minnie) Haggerty of Warsaw, N.C., and Arlene (Jim) Kortema of Thompsonville, Mich.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Adella Haggerty.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014, at the Minar Bible Church, Mesick. The family will greet friends starting at 10 a.m.
