Duane Leedy

Duane C Leedy, age 77, passed away at his home, Saturday, April 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Beatrice Leedy and his brother, Dale Leedy. Duane will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Jill Leedy; his children, Dan (Teri) Leedy, Sharon (David) O'Donnoghue, Brian (Denise) Leedy, Brad Leedy; his grandchildren, Katy and Andy Leedy, Kelly and Kristin O'Donnoghue, Jenny and Vanessa Leedy; his great-granddaughter, Emery; his siblings, Jackie Bielski, Norma Proudfoot, Stan (Van) Leedy; his sister-in-law, Judy Burke; and his nieces and nephews. Duane was a Michigan State fan, through and through. He also enjoyed Detroit Tigers baseball and watching sports on TV. In his early years, he played basketball and later softball and bowling. He coached his sons in Little League baseball for seven years. His family was the most important thing in his life, especially his grandchildren. Duane served in the U.S. Navy and worked for Steelcase for over 30 years. Visitation will be held from 4-7 PM Wednesday at Cook Funeral Home in Grandville, 4235 Prairie St. SW (west building). A Celebration of Duane's life will be held 2 PM Thursday, April 24, at Cook Memorial Chapel (east building). Interment will be at Georgetown Cemetery. In honor of Duane, contributions may be made to American Brain Tumor Association or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation.
