Monika Thornton

Monika M. Thornton, age 52, of Kalamazoo, MI went to be with the Lord Friday, April 18, 2014. She was born September 17, 1961 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Trudy and Horst Wissner. In 1979, she graduated from Hastings High School. After high school she attended KCC. Monika enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, camping, being at the lake, laying in the sun on the beach and her animals. Monika loved to laugh and seemed to be the life of the party at work. Most of all she loved making memories with her family, especially with her kids. She is survived by her loving husband, Timothy of 20 years; children, Brian M. Anderson, DeAnna M. Hill, Joshua T. Thornton; father, Horst Wissner; grandchild, Noah Michael Anderson; siblings, Joanie (Donnie) Anderson, Michael (Susan) Wissner; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother. Family will receive friends at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Visitation will also take place Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 11 AM-12 PM. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM with Pastor Jonathon Major officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may send condolences or share a memory at baxterfuneral.com.
