Surrounded by her family, Carol Elaine Corona, age 82, passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at Oak Ridge Care Center. She was born in Racine, October 25, 1931, daughter of the late Elmer and Agnes (Nee: Pfister) Eickhorst.

Carol graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1949”. On May 27, 1950 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Michael D. Corona. Carol was employed by Belle City Credit Union, Webster Credit Union and Danfoss Credit Union. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and a member and past president of the Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the All American Girls Professional Baseball Association. Carol was involved with scouting while raising her children and served as a den mother and Girl Scout Leader. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital as a “Pink Lady” for many years as well as volunteering for many years at St. John Nepomuk Church and school. At home, Carol enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking and baking. She was an avid Packers and Cubs Fan who enjoyed rooting just as much while watching her grandchildren play sports. She enjoyed the family vacations and traveling with her husband Mike on his many endeavors. Her favorite pastime was shopping with her daughter and granddaughters which always was highlighted with the annual trip to the Walnut Room in Chicago the day after Christmas. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Mike; 3 children, Michael (Jacque) Corona, Susan Lynch, James Corona; grandchildren, Michael (Allie) Corona, Kathryn (Jason) Ortiz, Sarah Corona, Kimberly Lynch, Kelly Lynch, Amy (Justin) Thornton, Tony Corona: great grandchildren, Michael and Macie Corona, Ellie Corona, Ethan Thornton, Logan Ortiz, and Millie Corona; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Catherine (Ronald) DeRose, Florence Staats, Marilyn Corona, Bernice Corona, Herman Buchaklian; her god daughters, Peggy Kohler and Debbie DeRose; her longtime and best friend, Jean Kohler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a great grandson, Michael Charles Corona; sister, Barbara Buchaklian; godson, Tom Corona; and her son-in-law, Thomas Lynch.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St. with Reverend Richard Molter officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Tuesday at the funeral home 4-7 P.M. (7:00 P.M. Prayer) and on Wednesday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass
