BACON, KATHLEEN COOLIDGE Kathleen (Coolidge) Bacon, aged 64, of Kentwood, MI slipped the bonds of this world to be among the angels April 12, 2014. Loved by all and lovingly called Kath, Mom, Kitten, depending on who so called, she is survived in life by husband, Bruce; daughter and son, Carrie and Christopher; brother and two sisters, John K. Coolidge (Donna Stoner), Patricia Coolidge Harvey (David), Susan Coolidge; step-mother-in-law, Judith (Gerritsen) Bacon; two brothers-in-law, Larry Bacon (Pamela Storey), Brian Bacon (Lisa Wilkerson); and generations of nieces, nephews and cousins. Petite from birth, she was not given a middle name as her father proclaimed that Kathleen Coolidge was enough of a name for such a peanut. All who knew her, knew better than to judge her by her size; the largest heart and a terrier's fighting spirit were wrapped in that little package. Artistic to the core, she spread beauty through the world with any medium she touched whether paint, pencil, flower or photography. She was a lover of all things wild, plant, animal, and child alike. She took great pleasure in cultivating life in her gardens, and went as far as covertly rescuing Trillium from a construction site, unable to watch its loss. A natural with animals, she helped many gain better insight into their canine companions. Loving mother to Carrie and Christopher, her kind words and open heart earned her motherhood to many others spreading from home to China. Wife to Bruce, she was his anchor, his best friend, his partner in crime, and his dearest love for over 40 years. Her light, love and spirit could not be eclipsed even in the last days of her fight. The family wishes to thank all that stood by Kathy during her great battle with cancer. In the last days, she was lovingly tended to by Faith Hospice at Trillium Woods. For those inclined to do so, the family wishes any donations to be made in her honor go to Faith Hospice - Development Office 2100 Raybrook St. SE, Suite 300 Grand Rapids, MI 49546. Kathy did not wish to have a funeral service, the family is following that wish. Those that are left behind to weep are better for having loved her and blessed for having been loved by her. Kathy, you will be missed.
