Obituary for Donna Blanton
Donna Lou Blanton, 76 of Gardner, passed away at Butterfield Court, March 22, 2014 with two daughters by her side. She was born August 19, 1937, the daughter of Don Pete and Bernie Macon Louise (Rozzell) Burgess in Kistler, West Virginia. On June 14, 1964 Donna married Caleb Z. Blanton, Jr in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.
Mrs. Blanton was a LPN for Morris Hospital for 30 years and a member of the Dwight Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading and most importantly her children and grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her husband, Don of Coal City, two daughters: Angela Blanton of Kankakee and Amy (David) Lardi of Coal City; a son Caleb Z. Blanton, III (Megan Calhoun) of Hunting Beach, CA; five grandchildren: Christian Dawson (Kim Love), Jerrica (Ryan) Sennott, Joshua (Kristina) Lardi, Joel (Rhea) Lardi and Molly Lardi; six great grandchildren; Maya, Morgan, Jack, Ryleigh, Neil and baby Lardi as well as a sister: Marie (Harold) Blankenship of Franklin, West Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Jennifer Blanton; two brothers: Jack Rozzell and Lynn Burgesss.
Memorials may be made to Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home, Kankakee Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
