Joan Bosman

Joan Bosman, 79, of Kankakee, passed away, Thursday, February 27th at her home in Kankakee.

She was born October 3, 1934 in Custer Park, IL to Oral and Opal (Clodi) St. Germaine. Joan graduated from Herscher High School and later married August “Pat” Bosman on June 7, 1952.

For many years she was a loan counselor for the Kankakee County Catholic Credit Union; now known as Common Wealth Credit Union. After Joan retired she did daycare in her home for several years.

She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, enjoyed camping, Chicago Baseball and dearly loved her grandchildren and their activities.

Joan is survived by her loving husband, 2 daughters and sons- in- law; Mary and Ron Talamantes of Kankakee, Nancy and Jimmy Lovell of Tennessee, and a son and daughter-in-law; John and Sherry Bosman of Manteno, IL. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Kristi and Kraig Horstmann, Jodi and Kevin Schaumburg, Justin and Amanda Bosman, Nicholas Bosman, Chisa Gleason and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Aurelene St. Germaine.

A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes. Joan’s celebration of life funeral service will follow at St. Theresa Church, Kankakee, IL at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Limestone Cemetery at a later date.
