Carl P. Baron

Carl P. Baron, unexpectedly passed away Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the age of 87, at Froedtert Lutheran Memorial Hospital, Wauwatosa. Born in Chicago on December 13, 1926, he was the son of Sylvestro and Rosalia (Nee: Scozzola) Boscarino.

Volunteering at the age of 16 he proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during World War II, stationed in Hawaii following the attack on Pearl Harbor. On February 28, 1948 in Chicago, he was united in marriage to Anna DiSalvo. Anna preceded him in death on February 1, 2006. Carl owned and operated West Lawn Memorial Park from 1981 until 1994, after working for many years for the National Catholic Cemetery Association.

Charming and warm with a wondrous sense of humor, he had a great love of sports that he generously shared with family and friends. He always enjoyed a good laugh over good food with good friends and his family. His kindness and charity were undeniable and easily seen and felt by everyone he met. Always community minded, Carl was a member of the Rotary Club, along with other organizations, and will be remembered for his extreme generosity throughout the city. A loving father, grandfather, and soon great grandfather, he was anxiously awaiting the birth of his great- grandson in June. He will be deeply missed.

He leaves behind his two daughters, Carol M. Rogers of Island Lake, IL, Roseann (William) Ogden of Racine; two grandchildren, Matthew (Andrea) Ogden of South Milwaukee, Sarah (Jered) Piencikowski of Oak Creek; sisters, Antoinette Centanni of Elk Grove, IL, Francesca Shambro of Chicago, Josephine Richards of Hemet, CA; sister-in-law, Mary Falbo of Oakbrook, IL; brother-in-law, Casimir “Sammy” DiSalvo of Deltona, FL; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He will join his parents, wife, and his brothers, Paul Rufolo and Steve (Jean) Boscarino, who preceded him in death.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this Thursday, February 27, 2014, 11:30 A.M. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until Mass at 11:30 A.M. Private interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL. Memorials to the Women’s Resource Center or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
