Tamara Brown

Tamara Lynne Brown, 52, of Herscher passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at her home after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 29, 1961 in Kankakee IL. to Austin and Nancy (Ball) Johnson. Tamara married Daniel Brown in Bourbonnais IL. on February 11, 1984.

Mrs. Brown is a graduate of Kankakee Community College. She was previously employed as a Respiratory Therapist at Riverside Medical Center. She touched many young lives at Tiny Tots Town, a daycare center she operated out of her home for more than a decade. More recently she had returned to the medical field working as a medical assistant at The Medical Group in Herscher. She was a member of Herscher Christian Church where she sang often with the worship team. She had a beautiful voice and loved singing and listening to music. She loved scrap-booking, cross stitch and crafts in general. Her special joys were the many hours of pleasure she spent with her grandchildren and sharing her love for Jesus to the lost.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband of Herscher, paternal mother in law Alice Brown of Herscher, her mother and father of Kankakee, two daughters Amber (Carl) Failor of Elburn IL, Ashlen (Andrew) King of Herscher, son Andrew (Breanne) Brown of Herscher, sister Laura (Cliff) Jensen of Irwin, brother Trent Jensen of Kankakee IL, four grandchildren Arianna and Cowen Failor, and Hailey and Hayden Brown. She was preceded in death by her paternal father in law Dale Brown, maternal grandmother Thelma Ball, and her maternal grandfather Theodore Ball.

A gathering for family and friends will be at the Herscher Christian Church from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, January 31, 2014 and then again on Saturday, February 1, 2014 from 10 a.m. until Tamara”s celebration of life funeral service at 11 a.m. again at the church. Rev. Tyson Graber will officiate the services. Burial will be at Pilot Center Cemetery in Herscher IL.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society (Relay For Life – Relay Road Warrior Team)
