Paul Stuht, age 69, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, September 29, 2013. He was born September 10, 1944 in Munising, Michigan, son of the late Vernon and Maxine (Nee: Pangborn) Stuht. He was a graduate of Mathers High School and attended Northern Michigan University. He was a dedicated employee of S.C. Johnson Wax for forty-five years, retiring in 2010. During the summers and after retirement he spent as much time as possible in his family home in Christmas, Michigan on Lake Superior where he always welcomed the extended family around the campfire. He was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed the Packers and coaching his kids softball and baseball teams. His charismatic personality, quick wit, keen intellect and perspective on what is important in life, were among his most endearing qualities. A loyal and valued friend to many, Paul loved family, friends, and good long conversations. When it came to relationships Paul was generous. Their home was the center of activity as they hosted countless pig roasts and other parties to mark significant milestones in the lives of their friends and family. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to share news of their latest accomplishments. Paul forever loved the U.P. - “God’s country”, as he called it - where his ashes will be spread and his spirit will remain.

Survivors include his wife, Janet (Standiford) Stuht; children, Brian Stuht (Heather Beasy), Michael Stuht, Abby (Justin) Schilz, grandchildren, Austin Ishman, Paul Stuht, Joseph Stuht, Thomas and Coen Schilz, Mira Stuht, Isabella and Olivia Gosda; siblings, John (Carol) Stuht and twin sister Pauline McNutt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles Standiford, Susan Lumia, Sheila (Chuck) Wittkowski, Judith Peterson, Marcia Standiford (Ken) Ferencek; other relatives and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013, 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. until time of service at 5:00 P.M.
