Irene E. Keller

Irene E. Keller, age 89, of Kankakee, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Miller Rehabilitation Center in Kankakee. Irene was born on February 1, 1924 to John and Emma (Burmeier) Behrens in Quincy, IL. She married Robert Keller on October 23, 1948. She worked as secretary for the Kankakee School District and also as a secretary for Cigna Healthcare before her retirement. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed sewing.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert of Kankakee; one son, Jim (Chris) Keller of Bourbonnais; two daughters, Marilyn (David) Rittmeyer of Arlington Heights, IL and Barbara (Kevan) Dilbeck of Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Irene will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Mound Grove Cemetery in Kankakee.
