Jack Melvin Lewis, age 82, of Bradley, IL passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at his home in Bradley. Jack was born on August 13, 1930 in Pleasanton, KS, the son of Monroe and Alice Lewis. On June 23, 1956 in Vandalia, MO he married Dorothy Louise Watts. Jack served his country in the United States Army, worked for 39 years for Chicago Bridge and Iron retiring in 1995, was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais, IL where he devoted much of his time including cleaning and repairing the church busses. Jack also enjoyed collecting coins and could be found many days riding his bicycle in search of lost change.

Jack is survived by his wife Dorothy of Bradley, IL, his daughters; Donna (Chuck) Cantrell of Brookport, IL, Karen (Mike) Francis, of Vienna, W.V., Tina (Ken) Larsen of Bourbonnais, IL, and Judy (Jim) Jensen of Advance, MO, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters; Mary Martin of Kansas, Wilma Lewis of Texas, and Joan Bell of Kansas, a brother Howard Lewis of Kansas, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; George, Norman, Harold, James, and Billy Lewis, sisters Ellen Peery, Betty Patterson, and Helen Walz, a son David Lewis and a great-grandaughter Sarah Jaycee McLeary.

A time of gathering will take place on Monday, May 20, 2013 from 5pm-7pm and on Tuesday, May 21 from 9am until the time of service at 10am all at Faith Baptist Church in Bourbonnais, IL

Interment will be on Wednesday, May 22 at 12 noon at Vandalia Cemetery in Vandalia, MO

In lieu of flowers memorials to Faith Baptist Church would be appreciated.
