Warren Toogood, age 83, of Kankakee, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Riverside Medical Center. Warren was born on May 27, 1929 to Warren and Cora (Hillard) Toogood in Coopersville, MI. He proudly served the United States Air Force in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He continued his career in the military before retiring as Chief Master Sergeant in 1969. He married the former Sandra Boomgarden on May 5, 2007 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed flying private planes and being a yacht captain in Miami, FL.

Warren is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Keith Derr, Sr. of Jackson, MI and Warren ‘Steven’ Toogood of Belgium; five daughters, Teresa Hayden of Los Angeles, CA, Deborah Toogood of Belgium, Patricia Toogood of Miami, FL, Millicent Toogood of Jackson, MI and Audrey Toogood of Belgium; one brother, A.J. Toogood of Charlotte, NC and one sister, Norma Jean (Dennis) Kelosky of Jackson, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother brother, Wayne Toogood.

A gathering time for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home’s Kankakee Chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
