LIFESTORY:

Brittany Joy Kitzmiller, 26, of Williamsburg and South Carolina, died Aug. 12, 2012, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

She was born in Traverse City on Nov. 18, 1985, to Randy and Tammie (Michels) Kitzmiller. Her early years were spent in Buckley; the family then moved to Williamsburg.

Brittany was a 2004 graduate of Elk Rapids High School, where she excelled in volleyball and loved all sports. She received a volleyball scholarship to Limestone College in Gaffney, S.C.

Brittany will be remembered for her engaging smile, contagious laughter and ready wit. She loved spending time with her son, Kaihe, family and friends. Brittany loved to travel and was a true free spirit.

She loved children and worked in child care as well as the food industry.

Brittany is survived by her son, Kaihe Brown; parents, Randy and Tammie (Michels) Kitzmiller; sister, Tiffany Kitzmiller; brother-in-law, Shawn Shaw; nephew, Noah Shaw; nieces, Aubrey and Lily Shaw; maternal grandmother, Viola Michels; as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Edward Michels; paternal grandparents, Roger and Carmen Kitzmiller; and uncle, Joseph Malik.

A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at the home of Randy and Tammie Kitzmiller.

Memorial donations may be made to Brittany’s son through the Kaihe Raj Brown Scholarship Fund at Chase Bank.
