LIFESTORY:
Gordon J. “Gordy” Gilbertson, 66, of Bradley passed away at Riverside Hospital on July 8, 2012. He was born October 1, 1945 in Viceroy, Saskatchewan, Canada, to Palm and Lena (Fleischhaker) Gilbertson. Gordy married Yvonne “Bonnie” Sebastiani May 18, 2006 in New York, NY. He was a melt shop manager for Nucor Steel for 20 ½ years retiring in January 2012.
Mr. Gilbertson is survived by one son; Eric and Monique of Key Port NJ, three step sons; Jamie Sebastiani of Bradley, IL, Joseph and Christy Sebastiani of Avondale, AZ, Michael Jr. Sebastiani of Chicago, IL, two step grandchildren; Ryan and Kendall Sebastiani, one brother; Stuart Gilbertson of Vancouver, BC, Canada, one sister and her special friend; Joan Wiome and Eddy Hanofski of Regina Saskatchewan, two sisters in law; Jean and Tony Blanchette of Limestone, Nanette and Gary Wood of Limestone and several nieces and nephews. Gordy was preceded in death by his parents and one brother in law; Kim Bouchard.
A gathering time for family and friends will be Friday July 13, 2012 from 3-8 p.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes. There will also be some gathering time Saturday July 14, 2012 from 10-11 a.m. with Gordy’s celebration of life funeral Service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the United Way.
