OBITUARY:
Sybert "Sy" L. Crose, age 81, of Three Rivers, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Borgess Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born on Jan. 5, 1931 in Three Rivers, MI, the son of Berto and Mildred (Heslett) Crose-Henshel. Mr. Crose has been a lifelong resident of Three Rivers. He served his country as a tank commander in the Army National Guard. He was employed at Three Rivers Rubber Company and later in construction for over 25 years with Continental Design in Kalamazoo, before retiring in 1993. Sy truly loved to work with wood, building many pieces of furniture, and knick- knacks for family and friends. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards. Sybert was a member of the Three Rivers Elks Lodge #1248. Mr. Crose was preceded in death by his parents, his late wife, Charlett, and four siblings, Patricia, Darrell, Delores "Pete", and Corwin "Corky" Crose. He leaves to cherish his memory, four children, Lore (Matthew) Hynan, of McCordsville, IN, Julie (Dennis) Bertch, of Kalamazoo, MI, Scott (Lyn) Crose, of Three Rivers, Todd (Angella) Crose, of Morris, IL; 12 grandchildren, Brandon and Chase Crose, Jason Bertch, and Elizabeth Eley, Ryan and Breanna Crose, Brittanie (Crose) Shenberg, Brianna, Nathan, and Anthony Sams, Katie and Austin Hynan; 13 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Hohner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11 AM with visitation one hour prior on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Lane officiating. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Three Rivers. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association . Envelopes available at the funeral home.
