Betty Wishau

LIFESTORY:
Betty J. Wishau, age 82, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home. Betty was born in Racine, March 7, 1930 and had been a lifelong area resident.
On October 12, 1963 she was united in marriage to David L. Wishau. Betty was a longtime member and secretary of the St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, walks to the lighthouse, long rides in the country and theater productions. She was also an avid Green Bay Packers Fan, enjoyed watching golf and tennis, was a voracious reader and a world traveler who visited the Holy Land several times. Above all she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband of forty-eight years, David; her daughters, Elizabeth Nielsen, Rebecca Wishau; daughter-in-law, Carol Wishau; her grandchildren, Anthony and Patience Vitacco, Rachel Vitacco, Kelsey Wishau; her great grandchildren, Autumn Vitacco, Emily, Olivia, and Sophia Wallgren, Rocco Vitacco; brothers, Glen, Robert, Milton, and Wayne; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon McGregor and Helen Alsing; daughter, Phyllis Sweet; son, Patrick Wishau; and brothers, Blair, John, and Harold McGregor.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, 2012, 11:00 A.M., at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, 1015 Four Mile Rd with Rev. Michael Mueller officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to Friends of the Lighthouse, P.O. Box 44067, Racine, WI 53404-7001 or to the Wisconsin Humane Society Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, 4500 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53208 have been suggested.
