Buck Richhart

Buck Richhart was a loving husband, devoted father and loyal friend. He was smart and accomplished, resilient and strong, gentle and giving. He made no enemies, harbored no ill will, and was respected by the community he served.

Buck was born in McComb, Mississippi on April 12, 1981, during a decade that has been tagged the “Me Generation,” characterized by status-seeking and self-promotion. But Buck was big-hearted and hard-working, driven by his desire to do well by the ones he loved.

Adopted by the Richhard family at age 3, Buck started out on his own by age 14. At that time, he began working in the car industry as a detailer and made enough money that he decided not to stay in school. He was intelligent and street wise, but the structure of school was not appealing, so he dropped out and earned his GED later.

As it happened, Buck had just started at Tabernacle Christian School in Martinsville when he quit. But the day before he left, fellow student Tricia Russell spotted him, and that made all the difference in his life. Tricia knew from the moment she laid eyes on him that she would marry Buck.

The two had a long dating relationship before they decided to get married. During that time, her family grew to love him as their own son, and they were delighted when the two of them made their wedding vows on January 9, 2006 at the Separate Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. Buck and Tricia were soul mates and best friends and, as time went on, they became business partners.

Buck was the owner and operator of Richhart Auto Sales and Self Storage in Mooresville. He built the business from the ground up and accomplished a great deal as a young business man. Still, his first priority was his family, and he was overjoyed to become a father when Evan Andrew was born on September 27, 2007 and Ella Pearl on August 21, 2010. The children were his world, and little Evan especially loved being with his daddy.

Buck was a very proud father and an adoring husband. He was totally in love with Tricia and constantly thought of ways to make her happy. He thrilled to start the next project or dream house to make a good life for Tricia and the kids. Time spent with his family was the best, whether at home or away—boating, deep sea fishing on the ocean, or spending time at their beach home in Orange Beach, Alabama.

Very sadly, Buck died suddenly on Wednesday April 18, 2012 at the age of 31. He was dearly loved by his family, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Buck Richhart, of Martinsville, Indiana, is survived by his wife and best friend, Tricia (Russell) Richhart; children, Evan Andrew and Ella Pearl; parents, Larry and Rebecca Richhart; siblings, Toby Richhart, Bailey Richhart and Leslie Catron; a very loving and supportive network of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at Carlisle – Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville, Indiana, with calling there from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012.
