Okay, this is the most vivid memory! Back in the day (maybe 1969?) we had a family reunion of a sort in Rochester, and the Illinois Austs came. It was so much fun! The "boys and men" slept in a tent in the backyard, and we girls (which there much more of!) had a "camp" in the basement of our house. We gave Grandma and Grandpa (Paul Sr) little Richard's room. We played games, and we went--caravan style-- to Greenfield Village, in Dearborn, MI. The unfortunate thing was that, that summer was very dry and our house had well water. We had no water for that week, as the water table was so low! Imagine havine 22 people, and no water! Our neighbors ran a hose to our House , so we had something to cook with and to

clean with. Aunt Joyce was priceless with her cooking and cleaning. Uncle Paul was excellent at entertaining all the small boys, and even us girls. Uncle John Aust was there. Uncle Paul was always so calm, so collected, so organized. I guess that's an "Aust" thing. He was a very loving, giving man.

Who knew that such unexpected chaos could result in such a nice memory of my childhood???

Love to all my cousins in both states.
