Lorraine White

Lorraine D. White, 93 a lifelong resident of Kankakee County passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012. She was born December 2, 1918, the daughter of Charles Harvey and Tillie Johnson Harvey. She was retired from St. Mary’s Dietary Department where she faithfully served the Sister Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary for over 20 years. Mrs. White was an active member of The Salvation Army in Kankakee where she has been a member for 85 years. She loved her church, and has filled many leadership roles through the years.

She is survived by two sons: James (Jim) and Glenda White of Powell, TN; David (Whitey) White and Sharon, of Bourbonnais; Four Grandchildren: Beth Bigler (Ward) of Clinton, TN; Kristin Cousins (Steve) of Plainfield, IL; Brad and Stacey White of Chebanse, and Connie Schreiner (Jamie) of Brownsburg, IN and; Eleven Great Grandchildren: James and Emily Bigler; Emma, Sarah and Anna Cousins; Ella, Alexa and Ayla White and Wyatt, Eliana and Reed Schreiner.

Lorraine is preceded in death by her sisters: Elaine Zinanni and Betty Giasson; a niece: Judy Giasson and Horice White.

The family will receive friends at Schreffler Funeral Home in Bourbonnais on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 5 -7 pm. Services will be at Schreffler Funeral Home on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10 am. The burial will follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens.
