Myrtle Shumaker

Myrtle Harriet Shumaker, age 102, of Kankakee, IL. passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at Bradley Royale in Bradley, IL. She was born on June 6, 1909 in Kankakee, IL. the daughter of Edwin and Clara Farman. On September 8, 1930 she married Charles Shumaker who precedes her in death. Myrtle worked for several years at Bear Brand Hosiery, was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Kankakee, IL., worked in the Asbury Thrift Shop, and was a member of the Asbury Sewing Room Circle.

Myrtle is survived by her son Ronald Shumaker of Kankakee, IL., a grandson Daniel Shumaker of Danville, IL., a granddaughter Julie Ann Shumaker-Keppler of Crystal Lake, IL., 3 grandchildren Kody, Kaleb, and Dori Keppler, sister-in-law Lavon Farman and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers Clyde Farman and Edwin Farman Jr., sister Irene Whitmore, and a daughter-in-law Jane Shumaker.

A time of Gathering will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 9am until the time of service at 11am at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes Kankakee Chapel followed by an interment at Kankakee Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Asbury United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
