Kathy Jo Arthion Flexser was born in Watseka, Illinois to Paul and Marcella Arthion. She grew up in the areas around Milford, Illinois and Vincennes, Indiana. Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Dwayne Flexser, on July 21, 1973 at Southside Church of the Nazarene in Danville, Illinois and they soon made their home in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Once she graduated in 1974, Kathy earned her first job as a Registered Nurse at Riverside Medical Center where she worked there for 20+ years in several areas including CCU, ER and the Recovery Room. Kathy completed her Bachelors in Nursing Degree from Olivet Nazarene University in 1993. She enjoyed her work in the nursing profession and loved taking care of her patients. During those years she helped raised two children Steven D. Flexser and Stacey J. Moore.
In June of 2003, Dwayne & Kathy moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a short while but found a warmer climate in 2007, when they moved to their current residence in Winterville, North Carolina. Kathy enjoyed being close to the ocean and taking long walks on the beach but what Kathy enjoyed most in life was spending time with the love of her life, Dwayne, and investing into the lives of her two children and two grandchildren. Kathy & Dwayne attended Covenant Methodist Church in Winterville.
