OBITUARY:

DIELEMAN - Frank Dieleman, age 90, of Holland, Michigan and most recently Raybrook, Holland Home, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Maude Dieleman; and by his siblings, Deane, Francis, William, Peter, Joe, Francious, Marinus; and one grandchild, Josue Francious Dieleman. Frank is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight extraordinary years, Cris (Clarissa Tiddens). He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Sarah, Steve and Connie, and Joe and Marcia of Miami, Florida; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren. Immediately following the attack on Pearl Harbor, Frank enlisted in the military. As a pioneer in the field of computer science, during World War II, Frank served in the Department of the Navy. While stationed in the nation's capital, he helped start the First Christian Reformed Church of Washington D.C. Following the war, Frank and Cris returned to Grand Rapids to raise a family. Since 1962, Frank was a member of Faith Christian Reformed Church, Holland, Michigan. He served as a deacon or elder for fifty-seven years at several Christian Reformed Churches. He was a 1939 graduate of Grand Rapids Christian High School and a graduate of Benjamin Franklin University, Washington D.C. Frank served as a chief financial officer of a small furniture company in Grand Rapids and retired from General Electric in 1985. He was a musician and artist and enjoyed playing the violin, painting and wood sculpture. He liked sailing, boating and fishing and celebrated life each day along Lake Michigan. Frank had a great sense of humor and a confident trust in the providence of God. He will always be remembered for his love of God, his parents, his beloved Crissy, his family, friends and church. A memorial service will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Raybrook Manor. The family will greet friends and relatives at Raybrook Manor on Saturday one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Christian Reformed Church, Holland, MI or to the Raybrook Manor Cook Center.
