LIFESTORY:

Lester Wesley Duvall, 97, of Hillman, formerly of Hubbard Lake, died Saturday November 12, 2011 at Hillman’s Haven.

Les was born March 20, 1914 in Detroit, MI to Roy and Nita (Johnson) Duvall. He married Eleanor Williamson in September of 1942, who preceded him in death on May 6, 2003. Les spent his entire working career in the Detroit area, retiring as a manager for A & P. He worked for A & P since he had been 14 and retired in 1971. He and Eleanor moved to the Hubbard Lake area in 1973. While he was working, he was very involved in community activities, including the Kiwanis Club. He loved to fish, bowl and was an avid scratch golfer. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Alpena.

Surviving are two sons; Donald (Elaine) Duvall of Alpena, Alan (Pat) Duvall of Hubbard Lake, five grandchildren; Patrick (Amy) Duvall, Robin (Joseph) Gormley, Scott (Sharon) Duvall, Steven (Tera) Duvall, Jason Duvall, six great-grandchildren, and a brother, George Duvall of Redford Township, MI. He was preceded in death by two sisters; Marie, Belle, and four brothers; Don, Roy, John and Bobby.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday November 17, 2011 at Trinity Episcopal Church from 11:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 noon with Rev. Bruce Michaud officiating. Inurnment will be at the church columbarium. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or Hospice of Michigan.
