I met Ruth after my brother started dating Ruth's daughter Katrina. Through the years she and her family became a part of my family. I will always be thankful to Ruth for helping raise the wonderful daughters she has, especially Katrina who became a wonderful wife to my brother and mom to my niece.

I first met Ruth at Prince of Peace church where we both attended while growing up, then in high school where she played piano for the concert choir. I have often wondered what she did with the talent she had and am glad to know she accomplished so much.

I first met Ruth as accompanist for the Ypsi Chamber Singers. Then I knew her as ever-supportive friend to my brother, Bill Boggs. We would see each other when I proudly attended concerts, and I would later know her as my email correspondent. Those emails revealed abiding themes: the joy, comfort and pride she found in family, friends and music. Over the years I admired her loyalty to and support of friends and family amd excellent musicianship, and I will remember her model of strength during her last years. I am among the many blessed by her life.

Ruth Sutton meant so much to me. She was the mother of a good friend and choir member, Karrie. She was also the pianist for so many of the Chamber Singer tours and concerts. She gave excellent advice and could always offer a cheerful suggestion as to how perhaps something could be done better. She directed with a gentle voice and was always quick to laugh at a joke. She touched so many at YHS through her talent and personality. I will always remember playing in the grand cathedrals of Europe and her awe at sitting where so many great composers and musicians had sat before. She was a modest woman full of grace and talent and I am a better person for having known her.

A few months ago, an intern reversed the questioning that I typically direct. Her question to me was "What is your passsion?" This is question which has been a personal struggle. However, with Aunt Ruth I believe her passion will forever live on through the beauty of music. While visiting a few years ago I had the good fortune to share in my Aunts passion...a music recital of her students. She loved her students and the music she produced and thus she will forever live on in the music. May each of us be so blessed to recognize our passion and embrace it as we celebrate what little time we have on this side of eternity.

We met Ruth and her wonderful family when she became the Organist at First Baptist Dearborn. Ruth contributed so very greatly to music program of the church. The love she gave to us and others through her music, no doubt will live on forever.

In Christ,

Ruth had such a beautiful spirit. She was an absolute joy to know. Her courage in the face of her illness was an inspiration.

To Ron, Kristin, Katrina, Matt, Madeline, Karrie & Matt, you are all in my prayers. May the God of all comfort be with all of you. And may you find comfort in knowing that Ruth is safely home with her Lord.

Love, Kathy

Last Mother's Day, Ruth playing the piano and Karrie playing the violin, blessed us at Knox with a beautiful song. Two generations of musicians, loving each other, loving their Lord, blessed us musically.

We will miss you!

Ruth was a wonderful lady who's passion for life and music will be forever in my heart. May God's blessing be upon Ron and the family at this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
