Dave and I spent quit a few Christmas Eves at Jim and Norma's house with Julie, Larry, and Jenna. Then with Julie and Jenna. I think I remember most the pride on Jim's face when watching his family. He was always so soft spoken and had a way of laughing very easily. I had the opportunity to get to know him better when I took care of him at the hospital. We had some time to talk to each other. We talked about many things but mainly about his love for his family. He adored Jenna and was very proud of her. I will miss Jim but I know that he is in a much better place and he is watching down and still sending all of his love to his family and friends. Now he is free of pain and suffering and we can remember all of the happy times. Carolyn

my fondest memories are of growing up on the farm. Uncle Jim was not that much older than us and oh so good looking. We would get all giggly whenever he was around. Not that he spent that much time around us as he was into "dating" and girls. But those dimples and that smile will always live in my heart. And our hearts were broken when he married Aunt Norma.

I remember Uncle Jim as being a large, gentle man who never had a harsh word for anyone. He always had a ready smile for us kids, and yes, he was so handsome! I have brief memories of him smoking a cigar, and that was (and still is) the only time in my life that I actually enjoyed the fragrance of a cigar. He always seemed so big and strong, you felt safe no matter what when he was around. He was such a good uncle, and my mom absolutely adored him as her baby brother.

Dear Julie,
Obviously I did not know your father, however, I know his daughter and she is a great gal; this speaks well of him. I've gone through the loss of both parents and my heart aches for yours. Time and faith are the only healers of a broken heart; prayers and love are sent to you.
God bless....

Norma and Julie,
I can't begin to tell you how much it saddens me to learn of your husband, father, passing away. You know I had a great deal of respect for him, and I always tried to make a point of seeing the both of you, and Jim, when I was home. Jim was a great man, and I will miss him, as will everyone who was priveleged enough to have known him. I hope that you can find some comfort in knowing that Jim is surely to be remembered by all that have known him, and I will most assuredly never forget him.
Love,
Ryan

So sorry to hear about Jim. Jim was my senior pardner on the Dowagiac Police Dept., and one of the best officers they ever had. We had loads of fun together. We use to have a ball with the fact that we looked so much like brothers. I walked into the Honda shop one time north of Schoolcraft and the guy said you know you look just like a friend of mine that lives up the road. I said yes and I bet his name is Jim Vargo and he about fell out of his shoe's. Then I had to tell him the story behind our friendship. You will be missed Jim.
