Edith Dittmer

OBITUARY:

DITTMER - Edith I. Dittmer, 88, of Zeeland, Michigan, formerly of Milwaukee, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010. Edith was born October 24, 1921 in Grunberg, Germany. She immigrated with her husband, Otto and son, Wolfgang to the U.S. and moved to Milwaukee 1957 where they made their home. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and also lifetime nanny to the Carl family children, Frankie, Kacie, Cecie, Andie, and Ted and cared deeply for them all. Otto passed away in 1983 and around 2000 she moved to the Royal Park Community in Zeeland to make her new home and be closer to family. She left many friends back in Milwaukee, especially those in the Klub Der Pommern. Edith is survived by her son, Wolfgang and wife Deborah Dittmer of Guilford, Connecticut; brother, Alfred Bartsch in Frankfurt, Germany; grandchildren, Brent Dittmer, Ryan Dittmer, and Lauren Dittmer, Chad and Heather Barton, Ben and Mindy Peterson; great-grandchildren, Adele Dittmer, Danielle, Ava, and Addison Barton, Keegan, Carter and Langley Peterson. Interment will take place in Wisconsin Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Holland.
