KINCAID - Mayza Jean Kincaid, age 85, of Grand Rapids, joined her Lord and Savior on March 8, 2010 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, as she was comforted in her home by her loving family. Mayza was raised in Holt, Michigan and was the daughter of Roy and Mary Dixon. She graduated Valedictorian from Holt High School in 1942. Mayza had a kind heart and blessed those around her. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who provided her family with endless love and support. Mayza gave Michigan Bell many years of dedicated service as a telephone operator until her retirement. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed knitting. She was always willing to help others and frequently donated her wonderful knitted items to charities. Mayza's favorite pastime was playing a friendly board game or card game with her family and friends. She was a fabulous cook and delighted everyone with her delicious homemade fudge, caramels, Chex mix, and cookies during the holiday season. Mayza was preceded in death by her husband, Maclynn; brothers, Donald Dixon, Marston Dixon; and sister, Bea Ralston. She is survived by her sons, Terry (Simone), Tim (Anne), Randy (Dawn); and grandchildren, Lisa, Audrey, Alana, Caitlin, Meghan, Ian, Claire, Matthew and Erin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; her good friend Bill; and many wonderful bridge playing friends. Her family would like to thank Spectrum Health Hospice for all of the support they provided during Mayza's brief illness. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1700 Woodward SE, with Rev. Donald Gordon officiating. Her family will greet friends and relatives at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel Thursday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in Mayza's name to Spectrum Health Hospice, or Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Zaagman Memorial Chapel
