OBITUARY:

FOLKEMA - Mr. John J. Folkema, age 90, of Grant, died Sunday, March 7, 2010. He married Anna VanAsselt on September 18, 1945 in Grant and she preceded him in death on October 13, 1972. He then married June Elizabeth Roe Oakes on September 14, 1979 in Grant and she preceded him in death on May 4, 1987. He then married Mae Violet Siebranck Kruse August 7, 1993 in Grant and she preceded him in death March 22, 2002. He is survived by his children, Bob and Joanie Folkema of Dorr, Bev and Jim Felkey of Jenison, Fred and Faye Folkema of Sand Lake, Tim and Sherry Folkema of Casnovia, Dan and Sharon Folkema of Fremont, Jane and Doug Walstra of Grove City, OH; 17 grandchildren and 35 great .grandchildren; step children, Herb and Karen Oakes, Ellen and John Binbakowitz, Rich and Mary Jane Oakes, Pam and Bill Babcock, Dale Oakes, Bonnie and Gerry Chevrier, Linda and James Uhe, Mickey and Roger Hilbrand, several step grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his brothers and sister, Harold Folkema of Grand Rapids, Marvin and Donna Folkema, Betty and Nelvin Harmsen, all of Fremont. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. from the Grant Christian Reformed Church, on Thursday, March 11, 2010 with Rev. Ronald Baker officiating. Interment: Hillside Cemetery.
