Jean (Boomsma) Emelander

OBITUARY:

EMELANDER (BOOMSMA) - Jean Alida Emelander, aged 86, of Wyoming, formerly of Hudsonville, went to be with her heavenly Father on Friday, March 5, 2010. Jean is now reunited with her beloved husband, Harold, whom she married on November 9, 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Elizabeth Boomsma, brothers, Ted, John and Carl Boomsma, grandson, Billy Jack Emelander, three great grandchildren, Shemar Lovelady, Marissa Rodriguez and Savannah Emelander. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Keith (Pat) Emelander of Allegan, Jack (Sandy) Emelander of Newaygo, Harold (Carla) Emelander of Tallmadge Township, Betty (Floyd) Slater of Houston, TX, Terry (Lori) Emelander of Allegan, Perry (Connie) Emelander of Jenison, Kathy (Russ) Meis of Lowell. She was also a loving grandmother and great grandmother. Jean will always be in the hearts of her sisters, Henrietta Brinks, June Meisman; and brother, Menzo (Marie) Boomsma. Funeral and committal services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Hudsonville Reformed Church with Rev. Don VanSlyke officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. The family will meet with relatives and friends at the VanderLaan Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The family wishes in lieu of flowers, that memorial contributions be made to the Kidney Dialysis Clinic at Rai Clyde Park, 4893 Clyde Park, Wyoming, MI 49509.
