Pete was the Mill Manager when I first came to the Vicksburg Mill. He was a kind gentle man.

I was the New England sales representative for Simpson Paper and use to visit Vicksburg often. Pete Lowe always greeted me with a gracious sincere greeting.....always with that smile....can't remember him not smiling! Genuine, humble, "give you the time".....Pete was someone everyone should aspire to in leading their life with their fellow man.

Over the years I got to know Peter through Chapel Hill. In a large church, sometimes you just say hello to be friendly or it is the social thing to do. But with Pete, he always made you feel welcome and was glad to see you at worship. It didn't matter if you were a regular or not, he had an open and caring heart for everyone.

I will never forget the day I was ushering at Chapel HIll Church and Pete approached me and told me that after a lot of prayer he was convinced that I was to be his "spiritual friend" at Chapel Hill. I was a little taken aback and after some reflection I responded in a postive fashion and that began many hours of sharing our faith, learning together, and becoming good friends. Pete taught me much and I am honored to have called him friend, indeed, spiritual friend!
