OBITUARY:
BARANOWSKI - Walter E. Baranowski, aged 92, of Walker, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009 at Holland Home-Fulton Manor-VanAndel Pavillion. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hauser-Baranowski; his sons, Gregory of Grand Rapids, Michael of North San Juan, CA; grandchildren, Sasha Hughes and Trever, Damian and Mellissa Baranowski; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sophia Baranowski; three infant sons; three grandchildren; and his brothers. Also surviving are his step children, Michael J. Hauser, Laura and Mark Malone, Joseph and Leah Hauser, Thomas, Steven, John and Sandy Vesbit; sisters-in-law, Stella Baranowski, Virginia Baranowski, Florence Olejniczak, Margaret and Gerald Strahan. Walt served in the U.S. Army in Canada and the Asiatic Pacific for five years in the Army Engineering Corp, was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, the Elks Club, St. Casimer Society, and was a member of the American legion Post #47. His family would like to give a special thanks to all the staff at Holland Home-Fulton Manor-VanAndel Pavillion for their love and care they gave to Walter. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 224 Carrier N.E. (meet at church). Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. If you would like to pay your respects to Walter, please visit the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller N.E. at Three Mile Rd., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday.
