Joseph Mirto III

Joseph Dane Mirto III, age 62, of rural Saugatuck, passed away Friday evening, Nov. 13, 2009, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice of Holland.

The son of Winifred (Lep­ley) & Joseph D. Mirto II, he was born on June 17, 1947, in Akron, Ohio, and grew up in Centerline, Michigan.

Joe was a veteran of U.S. Air Force and graduated from Grand Valley State Uni­versity. On Oct. 19, 1985, in St. Joseph, he married Kathi Lee Zerbel and together they raised two sons. For 17 years, he worked for CSX Rail, and more recently was a certified pool technician at the Hol­land Aquatic Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife of twenty-four years, Kathi Mirto; two sons, Sam­uel Mirto and Cory Mirto; three sisters, Traci, Desiree, and Chris; and two brothers, Dennis and John.

Honoring his wishes, cre­mation has taken place and a private family remembrance will be held.
