Visitation: Visitation will be at the Kankakee Chapel of Schreffler Funeral Home, 1900 W. Court, Kankakee IL. from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday November 4, 2009.

Leonard was born on April 5, 1919 to August M. and Anna Waznik Blake in Kankakee, Illinois. He married Mary Roberta Clark Blake March 8, 1941 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kankakee, Illinois. Doc was a Tool and Die Maker at Garittsons Machine Shop for 15 years and Bennent Industries for 30 years, retiring in 1981.

He lived in Kankakee all of his life and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Moose Lodge. He was known to his family as Mr. Fix It, because he could make and fix anything. He enjoyed woodworking and working with metals. But above all he loved and adored his entire family.

Leonard is survived by his sons Barry Sr. of Chicago, David of Kankakee, and Marshall and Dr. Kathleen Blake of Chicago IL. one daughter and son in law Susan and Stephen Lucas of Kankakee, IL, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. His sister Margiene Betourne of Kankakee also survives.

He was preceded in death by his wife, 5 brothers; Clarence, Robert, Henry, James, Charles and his sister Dorothy Wieliczko.
