Dr. Benjamin Boerkel and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your dad. I met him through the Good Old Days magazine website about 4 yrs ago and had emailed him several times. I even wondered lately why i had not heard from him because he had sent me his new address. I just pulled the letter out of my left handed drawer which he sent me in 06 aug. 2009. I will be sending a letter to you Jane at the address I have. Betty and Mac McLaughlin Homer, MI.

Dave,
So sorry to hear about the passing of your father. I don't know if he told you or not, but I had him as a patient when he was in Meijer Heart Center a few months ago, and we talked about you. What a nice man! My sympathy to you and your family. Jill Cyranowski, Class of '85, VCU OT

I have wonderful memorys of Rev. Dr. Boerkoel. We had many conversations about and religon, life and often he would talk about his children. He loved them all and he was so proud of them. Rev. Dr. Boerkoel was the most intelligent person I have ever known. But he never spoke down to me. It was always at my level he never made me feel inferior. I admired him for that.
I will cherish the times I had with him. I will miss him always.
always.

Ben and Dan:
Sorry to hear about your loss. I suspect your father had a large influence on who you are today. I hope that made him very proud because it should. We could not make visitation, so please accept our cyber to you both.

This is a sad day for all of us at the Villa Maria, because we are all going to miss him so much. We not only lost a resident, but I lost a dear friend. As Bob our van driver said (He was one classy guy)

Dear Ben and Dan,
Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. As you know my father passed away this past summer. It is never easy to say good bye. The pain of this week will be lessened by the comfort and support of those who attend the funeral and the knowledge that our loved ones are no longer suffering and are in a better place.
God bless,
Doug and Steve
