Hey Gary- It's only been two weeks since you passed. I still keep waiting for you to walk through my kitchen door to tell me something new you learned and to give me one of your famous bear hugs. I sure could use one of your hugs and to see your smiling face today.

I can still remember the days spent rabbit hunting with Gary and his dog Barney. I would have put these two up against anybody in the area. I am not sure if Gary trained Barney or Barney trained Gary, as a team they were the best. I can still picture both of them looking at me after I would miss on a easy shot. They both would have the same quirky grin, as if to say " come on and we will try to get you another one". Garys heart was cut from the same cloth as his mothers, full of compassion and always thoughtful of others. Both are fondly remembered.

I was so sorry to see Garys obituary in the paper today....I only knew him from working at Portland Federal Credit Union, but I always thought he was such a nice man, he always went out of his way to say Hi to me.....he had such an engaging smile....I felt like he was my friend. For his family....keep the Faith, because I know he did.

I did not know Gary well other then working at the grocery store and speaking with him. I still remember though that he was a quiet person with a quick smile for everyone he came in contact. May God Bless.

Our family always had so much fun growing up across the street from each other. I know I was alot younger then the rest of the kids. But since our moms were best friends it was always so much fun when our familys did stuff together. I rarely saw Gary as I grew into an adult and went on to college. But I could count on the fact that when I did see him he would have a friendly hug for me and would always ask --- "What you up to these days Jame---". Gary was always a friendly, fun person and I am grateful that our families were brought together.

Gary was a kind hearted person who would help anyone without question. I have numerous memories sitting at the kitchen table laughing and just talking about life. He cherished every one of his nieces and nephews and always made special efforts to be an active member in their lives. He had a love for wood working, an eclectic taste for music and an admiration for fighter planes. I feel privileged for the time I have spect with Gary and thank God for bringing him into my life.
