Tom was a friend of friends. Although I lost touch with Tom when I transfered from Flint some 30 years ago, true friends are never forgotten. We played a "lot" of softball together in the Flint City leagues, hunted together, and every year would go "smelt dipping". One year while smelt dipping I stepped in a sink hole at Singing Bridge. My wadders filled with water and I was going down...Tom was there to pull me up and drag me to the banks. What a laugh we had over that.
Rest in peace my friend.

Tom's great grandmother and my grandmother were sisters. I was two years behind Tom at SJV. He was a big presence at our High School but I could have done without his giving me "noogies" in the hall and asking me, "what's buzzin' cousin?". My brother Paul was also a Supervisor at Consumers and always spoke well of him. May your memories and your Faith grant you His Peace.

Linda, I am sorry for your loss. I doubt that we have ever met, I haven't seen much of Tom (my 1st cousin) for years. I remember Tom from family gatherings- he was always engaging and friendly- just easy and fun to be around. I just talked with Tom's brother Greg- he was very sad to hear the news-Greg drives semi-truck cross country and will not be back in Michigan for another 10 days or so- he wanted me to pass on his regrets and to wish comfort for you and Tom's family at this very sad time.

Linda, I was so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I remember him at SJV, I was a year younger than Tom but I think back of his great smile and how nice he was to us lower classmen. And you Linda for helping me thru training at Consumers in Grand Rapids you obvisouly were a perfact match. My prayers go out to you and your family.

Tom was a great friend to me at Consumers Energy. I remember Tom always taking time to say hello and giving great advice, along with sharing sports storys of the Tigers & Lions. Tom once pulled my truck, that was stuck in my subdivision after a huge snow storm.. Tom wouldnt let me call a wrecker thats just the kind of guy was.. You are greatly missed my friend.

Tom was a high school teammate and good friend. His sense of humor was contagious and he was living each day to the fullest. His red convertible was legendary. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to Tom's family.

I knew Tom in high school and remember him fondly as a great guy with a smile. I was a year older but he was bigger so I was grateful that he was a nice guy. We played sports together and of course like most we all go live our separate lives. It was great reading and seeing the pictures of Tom and his family. My sister, Barb graduated with his brother Dave. Mrs. Perez, my wife Connie and I regret your loss, he was a great guy. You and your children are rightfully very sad but very proud of Tom. God Bless him and his loved ones.

Tom and I were good friends, his last year of high school at Flint Northern. He was one of our starting pitchers on the baseball team, and I was the catcher. This created the friendship and bond that we had. I especially remember his Chevrolet red convertible, that he was so proud of, and cruising Flint.

Tom's passing comes as a shock and I would like to extend my deepest condolences to friends and family. I worked with Tom for many years and know he had a deep love for his family, friends and co-workers and enjoyed the outdoors, water fowl hunting and was an avid sportsman. He was a character and I won't forget Tom, his smile, his quick wit, friendship, etc. and he left his mark on the Flint headquarters of Consumers Energy as a lineman while restoring power to thousands of customers throughout his career across the State of Michigan.

Thomas Perez was my grandfather and I loved him more than anything. He was always there for me and my greatest memory will be the fact that he truly loved me everyday. I will never forget him. He was always there to support me and get me through the hard times. He wanted nothing but the best for me and I will always be greatful. I know that he is in heaven watching me everyday and everything I do. I know he will appreciate my accomplishments even though he isn't here. I dedicate my success and the person that I am today to his unconditional love. He was the strongest and most important male figure in my life and could never be replaced. You will NEVER be forgotten and I will always love you papa.
Love, Sarah.

I have numerous memories of my dad...he brought me so much joy and contentment in my life. What a generous man! He gave his all whether it was just a comment or story about something or going to a country music concert (which he didn't like and said he would just turn down his hearing aids LOL). But we did enjoy ourselves everytime we were together. He is so proud of his family. Family was always first and he made sure all of us felt his love. I will miss him greatly, forever. I love you Dad! Your loving daughter, Tara
