Mart was definetly a Mom and Grandma first and foremost! She loved all her "boys" as she called them. To me she was a great friend and my "other-mother" as I called her. We had so many great laughs together - the most recent when she was out here in VA visiting with me. Leo had come home from the store and he was walking into the house acting like something was wrong - and he was faking some kind of seizure spewing out some white stuff and I totally freaked out till he couldn't keep a straight face any longer and then I saw it was whipped cream in his mouth! Marty just about peed her pants over that and my reaction to my crazy husband. We laughed for days about that one! She loved to laugh and that sound and her sincere friendship is what I will miss the most. God bless you Mart and grant you the peace you so deserve.

Dear Larry and Jeff,
I have done your Mom's hair for the last several years, what a phenomenal woman...loved each and everytime she came into the salon. We had so many great conversations about each of you and your families, she loved you both dearly. These last few months before Michael and Erika's wedding were a lift for her, she loved seeing the progress in the house, the stages of wedding, her doing the grooms cake, picking her dress out and jewelry. I did her hair on Aug 28th and we had a plan to go take a few days up north for the fall colors, we are both travel nuts so we knew we would have fun together. I am saddened by her passing, she inspired me, we laughed so hard sometimes we couldn't breath. A little spitfire.
She definately loved her boys and very proud of both of you. I am so very sorry for your loss. I will miss her deeply.

Marty and I worked the same hour in Mr. Wirick's office our senior year, at RBW. We both married our high school boyfriends. I remember Marty's laughter, and her zeal for all things "Larry". I'm certain she was a devoted mother to her sons and grandchildren, as I've seen her caring and concern for their Dad, which never faltered. Jim and I send our deepest condolences to her family for their loss. Our 50th class reunion won't be the same without Marty's great warmth and friendly spirit.....she will be missed and fondly remembered.

I haven't seen Martha in quite a few years but remember her fondly from our days in St. Joe's and Rodney B. As a result, I still think of her as the school girl in the early pictures. She and Larry made a good looking couple in high school. I want to express my sympathies to her sons and their families for their great loss.

Martha enjoyed her vehicles, old and new. She drove her latest, a beautiful shiny red van to our most recent old car outing for our Red Hatters' group, the Crimson Classic Cruisers, and it was my pleasure to ride in the front seat with her. We had a nice visit and shared with the other two ladies who were also her passengers.

Brent, Evan and I were greatly blessed with having Marty as our neighbor. She was such a wonderful person, so caring and loved her family dearly. She will be very greatly missed by the 3 of us. We will never have a neighbor so caring as Marty.
May you rest in peace Marty. We will miss you greatly.

We so enjoyed golfing with Martha at Twin Oaks as she subbed for her sister-in-law Charlene. There was never a dull moment with Martha and she had so much joy being on the golf course!
