Know my prayers go out to the whole family. I went to school with Jimmy. Did Mrs. Bultma's hair for a time in the 80's. I really enjoyed the times I spent with her and with your family.

Hi John & Bultema Family:
No surprise to me that Bette was Mother of the Year. She was always a mother to me too. I remember the wonderful smile and nodding look she gave. She was a wonderful person, always full of love and warmth and understanding. She was a great cook, especially her pies. I shared many meals with her and you, family. Bette loved the out of doors, picnics, Rotary events, and skiing. I remember seeing ski trips to Manistee Ski Area, watching everyone ski.
One time I will never forget. That is when Bette and John flew from Manistee to Grand Rapids to visit me at Mary Free Bed Hospital when I was recovering from surgery. I was just a young teenager then. What a class act that was to visit.
That was Bette's idea to do, and she is always class to me.

Dear John and Family,
Of all our Berean years as newlyweds and young parents, the smile of Bette Bultema is engraved into the memory banks of our brains. What a beautiful person and role model for a young couple like we were! We are so sorry for your loss, for it is great, and yet we rejoice that she is with her Lord and Savior. Our thoughts and prayers have been with you and will continue to be with you.

I grew up without a Grandmother, so when I met my husband John little did I know I had just recieved the most loving, wonderful Grandmother in the world. She always welcomed my children in her home with sticky fingers, running about, she always offered some fresh cookies and a drink. This is no small feat when you have 59 Grandchildren. She truly loved and enjoyed each and every one of them. I have never met a woman with such a truly loving and serving heart. I will forever carry her example with me of her Christian faith and devotion to her husband and children. I feel so very blessed to have had her as a part of my life, she will be dearly missed.
