David VanHalsema

VAN HALSEMA - David Emo Van Halsema, aged 59, of Alto, MI, left us for heaven unexpectedly after a heart attack June 14, 2009. Missing him intensely are his wife, Darlene; his children, Thea and John Brophy, Scott and Heather Nickelson; and his mother, Thea. He was an attentive grandfather to his young grandsons, Rhys David Brophy and Nathan and Tyler Nickelson. Oldest of five siblings, David also leaves many wider family and friends, including his first wife, Faith. He was predeceased in recent years by his daughter, Dana and his father, Dick. David was a loving, loyal, leisurely, generous and people-oriented man who travelled extensively with family. Visiting with his family is planned at Zaagman Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church on Thursday at 2:00 p.m., Pastor Robert Koornneef officiating.
