Ronald Abt

OBITUARY:

ABT - Ronald Albert Abt, 61, of Rochester Hills, MI, formerly of Grand Rapids and Greenville, MI, went to be with his Lord on May 16, 2009 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Ron was born on November 12, 1947 and was preceded in death by his parents, Verna and Helmut Abt. He attended Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, graduated from Kendall School of Design in Grand Rapids, MI, and worked many years in the Advertising Department of Meijer Corporation. Ron also served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary, of 26 years; sons, Ronald Jr. (Kristie) of Cape Coral, FL, Adam (Kristen) of Flushing, MI; daughter, Amy McNabb (Scott) of Fort Myers, FL; step-sons, Jeffrey Pleune (Carol) of Rochester Hills, MI, Andrew Pleune (Patricia) of Portland, OR; granddaughters, Krystin Abt, Sydnee Abt and Madeline Pleune; grandsons, Cody Abt, Seth Abt, Brendon and Logan McNabb and Mitchell Pleune; sisters, Sandra (Kenneth) McLaughlin of Missouri, and Judith (Russell) Arthur of Alabama; five nieces and nephews, and many friends. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Rochester on Saturday, June 27, 2009 with Pastor Thomas C. Townsend officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. immediately prior to the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the
