Thomas Zalaoras

ZALAORAS - Thomas N. Zalaoras, age 81, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord on Monday, May 4, 2009. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Van't Hof. Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Betty; daughters, Cynthia and Maurice Gurd, Debra Easley, son-in-law, Christian Van't Hof III; grandchildren, Brad and Jennifer Dykens, Shane and Alicia Gurd, Ryan and Brooke Gurd, Jayson Gurd, Emily and Mark Plamondon, Justin and Annie Smith, Christian Van't Hof IV, Adam Smith, and Alexandra Van't Hof; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Tom touched many children's lives through his love of family and his work through the Shriners. Funeral services for Tom will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at South United Methodist Church, 4500 South Division, Kentwood with Pastor Mack Strange and Justin Smith officiating. Entombment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Masonic Service Thursday at 8:30 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Down's Syndrome Association of West Michigan, South United Methodist Church or Shriner's Crippled Children.
