Wonderful memories of grandma was those days I stopped in to see her at my lunch hours in the late spring, and all throughout summer time with dairy queens waffle bowls. We would sit and talk while she enjoyed the ice creams. Some days one hour is not enough because we would talk about anything and everything. I remember her telling one of her roommates at the hospital while was in rehab at Spectrum "this girl, everytime I see her she always have something in her hand for me". Grandma I will truly missed our conversations, you are in a good hands now and with grandpa. I will always love you, and blessed to be your grand-daughter-in-law. We'll meet again someday.

Love,

Amy Poll

There are so many great memories. Iloved just sitting and talking to Grandma. Just regular conversation was so stimulating that hours would pass and it would feel like minutes.

I will always remember the look on her face when the low rumble of a Harley would cross by her walkway as we pulled in to say hi, It was like sunshine rays of excitment pouring out of her smile as she RAN out to see us. I will never forget those smiles.

I love you dearly

Your mother/grandmother would not have remembered me, but I have fond memories of her when she worked in labor and delivery at St. Mary's in the 50's and 60's. When I'd be

going in to have a baby, I'd pray that either she or Mrs.

Host would be there. Now they are together and are

probably talking about those busy days. God bless all of you.

I have many fond memories grandma, but one of my favorites was our weekly visit to her house. We would usually visit grandma on saturday or sunday and sit down at her kitchen table. She would always offer us some coke in her little orange plastic glasses and some cookies. We would sit for hours chit-chatting about everything on our minds. Then occassionaly we would get to go up into the atic and see all of her paintings, cross-stitches, and her other various works of art and personal treasures. That was always my favorte because we learned something new about grandma every time. We also made it down to the basement on several occasions were my sisters and I would play pool with grandpa, ride their excercise bike for fun, and gaze upon grandmas beautiful flowers that she was growing. As I grew older she would give me her updates on the U.S. state quarters collection that she had been working on for me and I would bring her flowers to brighten up her home. I had many good times with grandma that I will cherrish for the rest of my life. Grandma was a genuin strong beautiful woman who loved her children, grandchildren, and all those around her. I am so happy that she is in heaven with grandpa, but I will miss her dearly.

Alberta was the nurse in my father, Dr. John TenHave's office for many years. My parents, John and Fenna, were very fond of her, and I remember her as a kindly nurse.

My Grandmother was a rock, a very strong woman. She supported her family in whatever they wanted to aspire to. My greatest memory of her was always going to the Grand Rapids Ballet, and having her and Grandpa be at every ballet performance they possibly could for me. Even with as big as our family is there was never a lack of attention from them. I was absolutely tickled when she had approved of my husband when I broke the news to her that Matt had proposed. He was her little "Matty." I just have so many great memories of this powerful, intelligent, beautiful woman that I have the honor of calling my Grandmother. I am so happy that she is finally with Grandpa again and at peace. Welcome home again Grandma! I will miss you and love you forever.

While my time knowing Mom Poll was short lived, the time I personally spent with her was truely one of "girls only" talk, fun and laughter. She was a remarkable woman in her own right and probably was well ahead of her time in thoughts on women's rights and women's issues. Having a full understanding of what it was like to be a step child in her own life, she welcomed my children, Kevin and Kelly, with open arms and accepted them as her own grandchildren. Not being well versed in the Bible, whenever I had a question about something from the Bible, I knew my answer was a phone call away. Her strong faith and devotion to doing God's work can serve as an inspiration to us all. Though very short lived, it has been a privilege and an honor to have you as my mother-in-law. I will miss you. May you rest in peace.

Forty years ago, I began working in labor and delivery with Mrs. Poll. Then, 3 years later, she introduced me to Jim telling me he would be a nice date. Little did she know that she was a match maker, too. Next Sunday, we will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary... all thanks to Alberta! She and Milfred became our "other" Mother and Father. Her family was our family! Alberta was there for our wedding, the loss of our first two children and attended the birth of our two sons who grew to love and respect their "other" grandparents as much as their biological ones. We were blessed with having Milfred and Alberta in our lives and so happy that her son Ed was able to bring her to witness our sons weddings. She was proud of our sons and thrilled to know they were all grown up and happily married. She will be missed but we are comforted in knowing that she is with her husband and most importantly, with her Lord and Savior who she served with all her heart! What a testimony to her family and friends!!! Our prayers go to her family for their comfort, knowing what a wonderful woman their mother was and how much she was loved!! Thank you for sharing her with us these many years!! We loved her so much!!!

There are so many memories of Grandma, but I always loved to hear her play her piano and organ. And the day she climbed on my Dad's Harley because you are never to old to ride!
