Obituary
Rex Agar, formerly of Mesick, went home to heaven on Oct. 27, 2008. He was born on Nov. 13, 1921, to George and Ella Agar in Pontiac.
Rex served with the Civilian Conservation Corps before serving with the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946.
Rex graduated with a degree from the Detroit Bible College.
On Jan. 6, 1962, Rex married Helen Bates.
He pastored Springdale Community Church of Thompsonville, Homestead Community Church of Beulah, and Eden Bible Church of Beulah. He served as pastor of the Minar Bible Church in Mesick from 1962 to 1976.
Rex was highly regarded as a self employed electrician to Mesick and surrounding communities.
Upon retirement, Rex and Helen moved to Texas, where they enjoyed their grandchildren. They also joined the family of Central Baptist Church, where Rex served as church host and choir member.
Rex is survived by his loving wife Helen; four children, Ellen, Tim, Pam and Sarah; 19 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Fern Schultz; as well as a host of many other relatives and friends.
Services were held on Oct. 30 at the Central Baptist Church of Houston.
