Charles W. Abbey

OBITUARY:

Mr. Charles W. Abbey, age 75, died Friday, September 19, 2008. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on December 31, 1932 to George & Goldie (Hennessey) Abbey. Charles served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War and married the former Maxine Cunningham on May 8, 1954. Mr. Abbey had been employed as a Machine Operator at CWC #3 until retiring in 1986. He will be greatly missed. SURVIVORS Sons, Larry Ashburn of Fruitport, Donald Ashburn of AZ, Robert (Tama) Abbey of KY, John (Karen) Abbey of Muskegon, Timothy (Laurie) Abbey of Muskegon; daughters, Patricia Abbey of Lansing, Sandra (Terry) Wright of Muskegon, Mary Ann Hancock of Oscoda; 21 grandchildren, several great grandchildren;. He was preceded in death by wife, Maxine in 1999, a son, Charles Jr. in 1977 & daughter, Laurie in 2002. SERVICE Thursday, September 25, 2008, 11:00 AM at Clock Chapel with Rev. Bruce Beach officiating. Interment at Fruitland Township Cemetery. VISITATION Tuesday, 6-8 PM and Wednesday, 6-8 PM at Clock Life Story Funeral Home - Muskegon. MEMORIAL: American Heart Association.
